Our network has been down for a couple days here at school. The district's core switch decided to stop working and it made the entire network, including this site, randomly accessible, then inaccessible, for the past two days. Sorry to all those trying to take the 1:1 parent survey, as you should be able to get to it now, but probably could not before. I apologize for the downtime and hope you find everything you need on our web resources now. I have attached a pdf below that shows what the Inbox Message will look like in Parent Portal for those that are having trouble finding it while trying to complete the 1:1 Survey.

Norwalk High School and Eastview 8-9

Norwalk, IA 50211

Norwalk Parents or Guardians:

Starting with the 2014-2015 school year, Eastview and Norwalk High School students will be issued Chromebooks for use. We are excited to have a 1:1 student to device ratio at Norwalk in grades 8-12. A parent or guardian must authorize the issuance of a Chromebook to their student by:

A.  Reviewing the 1:1 Handbook.

B.  Responding to the 1:1 Acceptance Survey.

Students will receive an overview of the 1:1 Handbook on the first day of school. Only after the parent/guardian and the student have completed these requirements will the device be issued.

Starting  in July, Tim Geyer, Director of Technology, will begin sending messages to parents or guardians of students in grades 8-12 through email and the Infinite Campus Messenger.  The message will contain your student’s identification number and links to the 1:1 Handbook and survey. Those households who do not have access to the Internet or have not signed up for Parent Portal may complete the survey at registration on Monday, August 4th or Thursday, August 7th. Parent Portal Accounts can be created here: Parent Portal Signup Form

District Technology personnel will be available during registration to answer questions regarding the 1:1 Chromebook initiative. In addition, staff will be accessible to answer questions during Open House on Monday, August 18th.

Please contact Tim Geyer with any questions you may have about the 1:1 rollout  at tgeyer@norwalk.k12.ia.us.

Sincerely,

Dr. Denny Wulf
