The Norwalk School District will follow the guidelines recommended by the Child Care Weather Watch & the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Make sure children are dressed adequately to spend 20-30 minutes outside. Students will be expected to go outside regardless of their dress. Boots, scarves, mittens, hats, warm coats, etc. should be worn appropriate to the weather.  If your children do not bring boots for damp or snowy conditions they are required to stay on the blacktop. If you cannot provide these items for your child(ren), please contact the principal for confidential assistance. There must be a medical reason for a student to be excused from recess along with a note from the doctor.
